Wide-plank engineered oak runs continuously through this Longview home, chosen for the way it holds its dimension through a Charlotte summer. The boards are laid along the length of each room so the joints read as lines rather than a grid, which keeps a large primary suite feeling calm rather than busy.
Engineered hardwood was specified here rather than solid because of its cross-layered core. In our climate that stability matters more than any other property of the board, and it is why we recommend it for whole-floor installations across the Charlotte area.
